Avtozavod KRT: First Building Approved, 50 Homes Razed

The development plan includes 14 apartment buildings with heights ranging from seven to 19 stories.
In Nizhny Novgorod, permission has been issued for the construction of the first building under the Comprehensive Territory Development (KRT) project in the Yanka Kupala Street area. The high-rise in Avtozavod will contain 210 apartments and four public-purpose premises, according to the regional Ministry of Construction.
Under the KRT project, the site bounded by Yanka Kupala Street, Yuzhnoye Shosse (Southern Highway), Kolomenskaya Street, and Leskova Street is planned for development. The residential complex will be built by the Kazan-based company «Stroyuslugi-5» (part of the «Unistroy» Group of Companies).
According to the master plan, 14 apartment buildings ranging from seven to 19 stories high with underground parking will be erected on the site. The Ministry of Construction has issued permission for the first 20-story building. Its total area will be 14,000 square meters. The building will house 210 apartments and four public-purpose premises. At the end of last year, the authorities approved the architectural and urban planning appearance of the building.
Also, under the agreement, as noted by the department, the construction of two kindergartens for 300 children and a new school for 800 students is planned on the territory.
For the construction of the new neighborhood in Avtozavod, 48 buildings will be demolished, most of which are residential houses. As a result, 1,115 people will receive new housing. The project is promised to be implemented over 15 years.
«The developer»s obligations also include improving the housing conditions of the owners of 39 dilapidated residential buildings located within the KRT area,« said Ivan Kargin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Recall that initially the development plan for this territory was more extensive, but it was adjusted after objections from local residents.
