Auction planned for Bolshaya Pokrovskaya building near Dirizhabl

The building at 44 Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, which has been hidden behind a false facade for several years in the very center of Nizhny Novgorod, will be put up for auction due to its emergency condition. All owners have agreed to the voluntary transfer of property for the sale of the house, NN.RU was told by the Ministry of Property and Land Relations of the region.

According to the ministry, the auction is scheduled for 2026. The buyer will be obligated to reconstruct the building. All work must be carried out while preserving the historical appearance of the structure.

As noted by the ministry, the building itself is not an architectural monument, but has the status of a valuable urban-forming object. The house is located within the boundaries of the historical territory «Old Nizhny Novgorod» and in the protective zone of the neighboring monument — the «Estate of I.Ya. Ravkind».

Recently, it also became known that in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, two other well-known ancient buildings have been put up for auction again: the House of Merchant Bashkirov and the Estate of the Obolenskys. Authorities are seeking investors who will undertake the restoration of architectural monuments.
