Auchan Hypermarket Urgently Closed in Volgograd Mall

In a large shopping center in Volgograd«s Sovetsky district, the Auchan hypermarket was urgently closed. According to visitors, it has been closed for over an hour, and neither security guards nor staff are explaining the reasons.
«At the Akvarel mall, the Auchan store has been closed for over an hour. Neither the mall«s security nor Auchan»s security have any information,» V1.RU readers report.
The hotline could not be reached. When the call was answered, a message said that due to a high volume of calls, wait times were longer. However, one of Akvarel«s employees confirmed the closure in a conversation with a V1.RU correspondent.
«They closed for a technical reason, and when they will reopen is unclear. As soon as they fix it… It depends on what happened. They were working in the morning, everything was fine, then around four o«clock they closed.»
V1.RU is checking with police and the MChS (Ministry of Emergency Situations, EMERCOM) whether the closure is linked to any incidents or emergencies. Later, EMERCOM said that no emergency response vehicles had been dispatched from their side.
Earlier, Akvarel was urgently evacuated: all visitors and staff were led outside, stores were closed, and a loudspeaker announcement said: «Urgent announcement. For technical reasons, we ask you to immediately leave the shopping center building.» Dog handlers, ambulances, and fire trucks gathered at the scene. However, none of the agencies commented on what was happening.
