In the Akvarel shopping and entertainment center in Volgograd, the Auchan grocery hypermarket has suddenly ceased operations. According to visitors, the store has been closed for over an hour, and security guards and staff are offering no explanations.
Readers report: «In the Akvarel shopping center, the Auchan store has been closed for over an hour. Neither the mall security nor the Auchan security have any information.»
Attempts to contact the hotline were unsuccessful: an automated message cited increased wait times due to a high volume of calls. A mall employee confirmed the closure to a reporter.
He explained: «They closed due to a technical reason, and it’s unclear when they will reopen. Once it’s fixed… It depends on what happened. In the morning they were working, everything was fine, around four o’clock they closed.»
Comments were requested from the police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) to clarify the circumstances. EMERCOM stated that no emergency crews were dispatched to the scene.
Earlier, an urgent evacuation occurred at the same shopping center for technical reasons. Dog handlers, ambulances, and fire trucks arrived, but no agency commented on the situation.
