Art Installation in Yekaterinburg to Be Moved

The art installation featuring philosophical questions has grown into a landmark for the city of Yekaterinburg.
In Yekaterinburg, it has been decided to move an art object with the philosophical inscription «Who are we, where from, where are we going?». The work by artist Timofey Radya will leave the roof of the building where it has been since 2017.
The information about the planned move has been confirmed. A new location for the installation has not yet been chosen, but among the possible options, considered in a survey by a Telegram channel close to the city hall, the leading candidates are Makarovsky Bridge, the railing of the City Pond, and the weir of the Plotinka. The structure supporting the letters will likely be dismantled, but the inscription itself will be preserved.
«A place will be found, no need to worry,» notes the channel «Yekaterinburg. Main.»
The art object was installed in September 2017 on the roof of the Ural Instrument-Making Plant during the opening of the Ural Industrial Biennale of Contemporary Art. The idea belongs to street artist Timofey Radya. The inscription references the title of the famous painting by Paul Gauguin «Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?».
Previously, there were proposals to completely remove this legendary installation.
