The Scandinavian anticyclone on Tuesday, January 29, will reduce and then completely stop precipitation across the Leningrad region and St. Petersburg, leading to a gradual clearing of the sky. Variable cloudiness is expected during the day, with possible light snow in some parts of the region.

The air temperature in the city will range from -9 to -11°C (16 to 12°F), while the region will cool to -14°C (7°F). The wind will be north-easterly at 3–8 meters per second. Atmospheric pressure will continue to rise, reaching 767 millimeters of mercury.

St. Petersburg«s chief forecaster, Alexander Kolesov, explained on Monday, January 28, that the anticyclone over Finland is intensifying and slowly shifting south towards the Leningrad region. The rising atmospheric pressure is creating breaks in the cloud cover.

In Moscow, the weather is being influenced by an atmospheric front that will bring precipitation. The intensity of the snowfall will decrease. Thermometers will show -9…-11°C (16 to 12°F). The wind is expected to be north-easterly and northerly at 3–8 m/s. Pressure will rise to 743 mm Hg.
