Residents of the Aksay district (Rostov Oblast) are spending more time online. Over the past year, online activity grew by 10%. As a result of network infrastructure deployment, an increase in traffic is recorded.
Engineers expanded 4G network capabilities and added a high-frequency LTE band. This improved internet speed and network capacity, allowing many devices to connect simultaneously. Technical work was carried out in the city of Aksay and the stanitsas (Cossack villages) of Mishkinskaya, Olginskaya, Starocherkasskaya, and the khutors (hamlets) of Alexandrovka, Kamyshevakha, Ostrovskogo, Bolshoy Log, Lenina. The work was done by MegaFon«s communications specialists.
— Aksay district is one of the key industrial centers of the Don region, where manufacturers of agricultural machinery, food products, brick and glass factories operate. We deliberately deploy telecommunications equipment at the busiest points to provide subscribers with mobile internet. As a result, its speed in Aksay and adjacent settlements has reached 80 Mbit/s, which is enough to use any online resources — from video calls to downloading applications, — said Alexey Ivanov, director of the operator in the Rostov region.
The modernization also affected the settlements of Vodopadny and Verkhnemernitsky. Specialists covered key locations: government institutions, sports and creative organizations, schools, as well as the embankment of the Don River, the adjacent M-4 Don highway, and the Mishkinskaya railway station. Work was also carried out near nature reserves — Mukhina Balka Park and Shchepkinsky Forest.
