Accident at thermal power plant causes power outage in Kazan Aviation District

Residents of some homes in the Aviation District of Kazan were left without electricity after an emergency shutdown at TPP-2, a facility of JSC «Tatenergo». This was reported by the district administration.

«The team is already on site, currently restoring power supply,» reported the press service of the Aviation and Novo-Savinovsky districts.

Power outages were reported in homes on Karagandinskaya, Pobezhimova, Chelyuskina, and Timiryazeva streets. Some residents worried that power might be cut on other streets as well, including important social facilities such as medical institutions.

«Is the Consultation and Diagnostic Center on Lukina working? I have an appointment soon,» worried one of the local residents.

The Kazan State Traffic Inspectorate reported that due to the power outage, some traffic lights were temporarily out. Kazan residents are asked to be especially careful and attentive at the specified intersections.

This refers to the intersections of streets:

• Tsetsevskaya – Khlebzavodskaya,
• Kopylova – Oleg Koshevoy,
• Kopylova – Pobezhimova,
• Leningradskaya – Maximova,
• Maximova – Godovikova,
• Izhevskaya – Petra Vitera.

At 14:45, it became known that the traffic lights are working again.
