The Kurgan Generating Company (KGC) reported that today, January 29, a short circuit occurred at CHPP-1 on a 10 kV generator switchgear, which led to a temporary power outage for a number of consumers.

‘The outage affected the Arbinsky water intake, the Sintez plant, pumping stations and some heat points of the Heating Networks, as well as part of consumers in the Energetics and Solnechny Boulevard areas,’ according to KGC information.

After the emergency, CHPP-1 itself continued operating in normal mode without stopping the generation of electrical and thermal energy.

‘All necessary actions have now been completed, power supply to the disconnected consumers has been restored via a backup scheme, as of 08:30 pressure in the hot water supply system has been restored, hot water is being supplied to consumers. Cold water supply is also ensured. There was no cessation or limitation of heat supply to consumers,’ said Alexander Sergeyevich Pribylev, General Director of PJSC Kurgan Generating Company.

Currently, work is being carried out in Kurgan to restore energy supply.
