The hallway of a five-story Brezhnev-era apartment building in Volgograd«s Dzerzhinsky District was without water for nearly a week due to an abandoned apartment whose owner residents had not seen for about seven years. While utility workers and police deliberated over the legality of breaking down the door, a rotten water pipe was actively flooding the living space and the hallway.
Dirty dishes accumulated in a sink during the week-long water outage.

Due to this accident, water supply to the building at 102 Angarskaya Street was partially shut off that day. But according to residents, the active phase of repairs ended there.
« «We need to shut off the pipes in the apartment itself, but no one can get inside without a beat officer. The management company filed an application with the police on Thursday to break in, but it can take up to a month to be processed. In short, nothing has moved since Thursday.» »
According to open information, the building is serviced by LLC ZhEU na Angarskom. The V1.RU journalist was unable to contact the management: the receptionist said the director had left to deal with the apartment break-in and asked to call back later, then hung up. The emergency service knows about the problem but is not aware of the repair timeline.
« «I don»t know when. Not even approximately. As soon as they sort it all out there, they«ll turn it on.» »
The V1.RU editorial office asked the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region to clarify the timeline for breaking into the apartment. However, after some time, the resident who had sought help reported that water supply to the hallway had finally been restored.
