80 apartment buildings in Volgodonsk without heating after pipeline failure

On Mira Avenue, work to eliminate the accident did not stop all night
Antonina Pshenichnaya, the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Rostov Region, informed in her Telegram channel about an accident on the heating networks, as a result of which heating has been cut off in 80 apartment buildings in Volgodonsk.
The damage occurred on the evening of January 28 on a section of a large-diameter heating main located at the intersection of Mira Avenue and Mikhail Koshevoy Street. Initially, the resumption of heat supply was planned for 06:00 on January 29.
However, around 09:00 on January 29, the minister announced a new estimated completion time for the work — 20:00.
«On Mira Avenue, continuous work to pump water out of the heating collector went on all night. By 07:00, the pumping was completed, specialists localized and identified the damaged section of the heating main. Specialists are doing everything possible for the quickest restoration of heat supply,» said Antonina Pshenichnaya.
Earthworks are continuing at the accident site. Heating is absent in buildings at the following addresses:
- Marshal Koshevoy Street, 13, 15, 17, 19, 27, 27a, 50, 52, 56, 60, 62, 64, 66, 68;
- Karl Marx Street, 2, 6, 8, 10;
- Academician Korolev Street, 9;
- Mira Avenue, 2, 4, 6/27, 7/25i, 10, 12, 18, 20, 22, 24, 27, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41;
- Gagarin Street, 50, 54, 56a, 58, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 71, 73, 75, 77, 87, 42/9 bld. 1, 42/9, bld. 2, 42/9, bld. 3, 42/9, bld. 4, 42/9, bld. 5;
- Garazhnaya Street, 185, 187;
- Oktyabrskoye Shosse, 29, 30, 31, 35a, 36, 37;
- Industrialnaya Street, 3/191, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 22, 28, 32, 41.
As previously reported, in Rostov, residents of the building at Stachki Street, 215/2 have been living without normal heating since mid-December due to an accident at CHP-2. The temperature in their apartments drops to 16–17 °C (61–63 °F).
