69 grams of mephedrone seized from courier in Udmurtia
Police in Udmurtia detained a 45-year-old man suspected of illegal drug trafficking. They found 69 grams of the synthetic substance mephedrone on him.

Officers from the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Udmurt Republic detained a 45-year-old local resident during investigative measures. The suspect had previously been convicted for a similar crime.
The investigation revealed that the man worked as a courier for an online store selling prohibited substances. On the instructions of a supervisor, he picked up a stash in a forest strip in the Pervomaisky District of Izhevsk for subsequent contactless distribution in the republic. During a personal search, police seized a package containing, according to an expert examination, 69 grams of the synthetic narcotic drug mephedrone.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale). The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. This crime carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
