30 salvos and a thousand fireworks honor Leningrad victory
In St. Petersburg on January 27, an artillery salute will take place, dedicated to the anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the blockade. The main salvos and fireworks will be launched at the Peter and Paul Fortress in the evening.

The culmination of the commemorative events in honor of the 82nd anniversary of the complete lifting of the Leningrad blockade will be an artillery salute at the Peter and Paul Fortress, which will begin at 21:00.

According to information from the Leningrad Military District command, 12 guns of 85 mm caliber, as well as 12 special installations for launching fireworks, will be set up on the Big Beach of the fortress.
Crews from among the students of the Mikhailovsky Military Artillery Academy will fire 30 ceremonial salvos. Simultaneously, over a thousand high-altitude fireworks salvos will be set off in the sky above the city. More than 200 servicemen will be involved to ensure the event.
On the same day, numerous flower-laying ceremonies are taking place. Russian President Vladimir Putin, together with the governors of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, honored the memory of the fallen by visiting Nevsky Pyatachok and Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery.
