During the week from January 15 to 21, 1,154 people were injured in Voronezh and the region due to icy conditions. These figures were shared by the regional Ministry of Health.

In total, 3,464 people sought hospital care over the past seven days, with 2,489 of them in Voronezh. Among those injured by icy conditions, hospitalization was required for every eighth person—146 patients.

Also during the week, nine people were hospitalized with frostbite, and one person was hit by a piece of ice falling from a roof. Out of these ten, six were hospitalized.

Earlier, over just three days—from January 12 to 14—684 people were injured in the region due to icy conditions, averaging 228 per day. This high rate is attributed to the weather and poor cleanup, at least in Voronezh: residents complained en masse about icy courtyards and, in some places, sidewalks. It reached the point where the prosecutor«s office took up an inspection of the management companies responsible for courtyard cleanup.
