Trendy 'Living' Dessert Arrives in Arkhangelsk, Wobbles When Tapped

A trendy dessert has appeared in cafes and food courts in Arkhangelsk: panna-capybara. It looks like a little animal on a plate; if you move the plate or tap the animal with a spoon, it shakes amusingly. Videos of the edible capybara have taken over the internet: this strange treat is sold in our city too.

The trend, it turns out, is not new. For a year now, netizens have been mesmerized by videos of shaking desserts. First, there were plump cats, and only then did capybaras appear.
Essentially, it«s regular chocolate panna cotta, a well-known dessert usually served in a simpler form.
Panna cotta is a dense cream jelly with added sugar, chocolate, vanilla, gelatin. It sets into a pudding, so confectioners decided to play with these properties.
And this is already panna-capybara.
This dessert costs from 300 to 500 rubles (approx. $3–5 at current rates) in Arkhangelsk cafes.
‘We tried it, it«s tasty, kids will especially like it. It»s fun. The molds, apparently, are standard, so the capybaras look similar everywhere. Also, the portion is quite large, you can safely share it between two. That makes it even more interesting,’ comments a reader.
