Perm State University Marks 110 Years with Pelmeni Tasting

The university is organizing a unique event with homemade pelmeni and traditional drinks.
This year, Perm State University is celebrating an anniversary — 110 years. In honor of Student Day, they will prepare 110 portions of pelmeni and hold a tasting.
At Perm State University (PGNU), 59.RU reported that the university will celebrate Student Day (all ages) on Monday, January 26, after Tatiana«s Day, which in 2026 falls on a Sunday. The celebration will be marked in a special way: the university will make 110 plates of pelmeni using signature recipes from scientists and prepare sbiten, a traditional honey-based spiced drink, followed by a tasting.
«Pelmeni is a dish associated with student life,» noted the university«s press service.
The joint pelmeni making will begin at 16:00 in the Student Palace of Culture.
«The parquet floor will turn into a large university family kitchen,» say at the university.
At the tables, students, teachers, and staff of PGNU will gather, but the university invites alumni, applicants, and all interested to the celebration. The evening will conclude with a «generational songbook» featuring songs popular among students of different eras.
Earlier we wrote that at PGNU the philology faculty and SIL were merged — resulting in philcom.
