Doza Coffee in Chelyabinsk Closes Due to Owner's Fatigue

The popular Chelyabinsk cafe Doza Coffee, located on Sony Krivoy Street, has ended its operations. The closure was confirmed by the founder and owner of the establishment, Sergey Kurebeda.

In a conversation with journalists, the businessman explained that maintaining the cafe had become economically unfeasible.

«The cafe as a business… There’s not even much to say, everyone is struggling now — tax burden, cost of raw materials is rising, payments are increasing. Accordingly, the space I had on Sony Krivoy, 51, became unfeasible,» Sergey Kurebeda said. «On top of everything, I got a bit tired of the food service industry, so I decided to change my lifestyle a little.»

However, the Doza Coffee project is not ceasing to exist. According to the entrepreneur, his company continues to engage in wholesale coffee supplies to bars, restaurants, and other establishments, as well as staff training.

The news of the cafe«s closure saddened regular visitors. One of them noted that Doza Coffee was one of the first specialty coffee shops in the city, operating since 2014.

Sergey Kurebeda reassured customers by announcing plans for cooperation with other coffee shops.

«To be honest, I had planned a vacation for February, and on the 21st, I received an offer, and I will be coming in as a head barista at several coffee shops. One of them is in Chelyabinsk,» the entrepreneur said. «On Tuesday, I am meeting with representatives of a Chelyabinsk coffee shop who want to see the menu that was at Doza Coffee — with the same recipes, the same technologies. And, accordingly, I will make an announcement on my page. People will be able to buy beans and drinks there.»

In addition to coffee, the venue hosted cultural events such as monodramas.
