Konstantin Bronzit, an animator from St. Petersburg, has become an Oscar nominee for the third time. His work «Three Sisters» is included in the list of contenders in the category of Best Animated Short Film.
The announcement of nominees took place on January 22, and the award ceremony is scheduled for March 15. Previously, this film had already been shortlisted for the award.
The film tells the story of three elderly sisters living on a remote island with a lighthouse. Their leisurely life is changed by the arrival of a sailor who rents one of their houses.
Previously, Bronzit was nominated for an Oscar twice: in 2009 for the animated film «Toilet Story — Love Story,» created in 2007, and in 2016 for the film «We Can»t Live Without Cosmos« from 2014.
Shortly before this, the director«s feature-length animated film »On the Out« was released in Russian distribution, which he discussed in detail in one of his interviews.
