Superstar Jury Chooses Project's Main Underdog as 'Whipping Boy'

On the NTV channel, the sixth season of the show «Superstar» (16+) has started, where stars from the past take the stage again and surprise viewers with new arrangements of old hits.

In the very first episode, which aired on January 31, the underdog of the show was identified — Vlad Stashevsky. It«s not the first time he has been at the bottom of the »Superstar« ranking: in one of the previous seasons, he already became the record holder with the worst result. The same fate awaited him this time.

The 1990s star performed his hit «Love No Longer Lives Here.» The musician turned the lyrical song into a dance track, which stunned the jury members.

«— I think you»ve outgrown this song, it«s all in the past. Yes, it»s not bad, but we«re in a competition… — commented Sergei Sosedov. — You»ll still win us over, bring us to tears.«

The performer himself tried to joke it off, saying he only wanted to give the audience a mood and experiment with the hit that his fans have been listening to and loving for 30 years.

Lera Kudryavtseva also did not support Stashevsky.

«— All the girls suffered to this song. And with this arrangement… The song is sad. It»s about having no friends, no enemies. And here there«s dancing, like everything»s cool. And the song should evoke sympathy, but here it«s just a disco. What»s the point? — the blonde reasoned.«

The other jury members were in solidarity with their colleagues. For example, Stas Piekha admitted that he quickly grew tired of the song, calling the performance «hopeless suffering» that evokes no emotions.

The strict jury members gave Vlad Stashevsky the minimum three points. No other participant received such a low score.

The hosts hinted that the singer needs to prepare well for his next performance to avoid leaving the show.

Meanwhile, viewers are supporting Stashevsky.

«— They pecked poor Vladik to death, which is quite expected, — said show fan Yulia Vladimirova. — Of course, his songs aren»t that deep, but the fact that he«s outgrown them is natural, why focus on that? Everyone sang from their own repertoire.»

«— Well, how was Stashevsky supposed to sing a song with a light, danceable melody? That»s it! They found a whipping boy, — complained Marina Katina.«

«— Stashevsky objectively has the most absurd arrangement, — believes Ira Gusakova. — Moreover, for the second year in a row, they»ve ruined the presentation of his own song.«
