Irkutsk Weekend Events: Open Rehearsal, Film Lecture, Yoga

The weekend is approaching, which means it«s time to think about leisure activities. We»ve compiled a short and budget-friendly events guide for you.

The personal exhibition «Awakening» (16+) by Zorikto Dorzhiev will open at the Bronstein Gallery on January 23. His art combines the culture of nomadic peoples of the East with reflections on modernity, the future, and the human spiritual world.

The new exhibition features about 30 works created by the artist in recent years. Viewers will see pieces from the projects «Vajra-Punk» and «Patchwork Man» — key series from recent years. The author will give a tour.

At the Aistenok Puppet Theater at 12:30, there will be an open rehearsal of the play «The Tale of Umka» (4+). During the open rehearsal, viewers can see how actors prepare for the performance and experience the magic of theater backstage.

At the Ogon Center for Contemporary Art on January 24, a psychological film lecture titled «Wild: Self-Discovery, Crisis Exit, and Self-Therapy» (18+) will take place. The event will be led by practicing psychologist (CBT), employee of the social rehabilitation center Evgeny Chuev.

At the meeting, guests will discuss the impact of trauma and crisis on self-perception, escape as a way to cope with pain: whether it«s protection or a path, body, path, and loneliness as forms of self-therapy, and internal stages on the way to acceptance and recovery.

The Happy Person Yoga Center invites you to a master class on January 24 for learning health methods «Yamuna Body Rolling*: The Art of Body Liberation». Special balls move along meridians, affecting acupuncture points and stimulating the work of internal organs. Muscles are worked from start to finish, returning to optimal position.

At the «Inside Music» space on January 25, a concert by the Siberian Saxophone Quartet (12+) will be held. Organizers promise well-known and rare classical compositions, a bit of minimalism, and other surprises.

At 12:00 at the Sukachyov Estate, a bead weaving master class (12+) will take place. During the class, under the guidance of a master, you will learn bead weaving techniques and create your own jewelry. Materials are included in the cost.
