Found a Whipping Boy: Superstar Jury Picks Main Outsider
Viewers of the show suggest muting the sound when Sergei Sosedov starts speaking.
The sixth season of the show «Superstar» (16+) has started on the NTV channel, where stars from the past take the stage again and surprise viewers with new renditions of old hits.
In the very first episode, aired on 31 January, the show«s outsider was determined — Vlad Stashevsky. This is not the first time he has found himself at the very bottom of the »Superstar« ranking: in one of the previous seasons he already set a record for the worst result. The same fate awaited him now.
The 90s star performed his hit «Love Doesn»t Live Here Anymore«. The musician turned the lyrical song into a dance track, which left the jury members stunned.
«I think you»ve outgrown this song, it«s all in the past now. Yes, it»s not bad, but we are in a competition... You will still conquer us and move us to tears,« commented Sergei Sosedov.
The performer himself tried to joke it off, saying that he only wanted to give the audience a good mood and experiment with a hit that his fans have been listening to and loving for 30 years.
Lera Kudryavtseva did not support Stashevsky either.
«All the girls used to suffer along with this song. And with this arrangement... The song is sad. It»s about having neither friends nor enemies. And here there is dancing, like everything is cool. The song should evoke sympathy, but here it«s just a disco. What»s what?« the blonde pondered.
The other jury members were in solidarity with their colleagues. For example, Stas Piekha admitted that he quickly grew tired of the song, calling the performance «hopeless suffering» that evoked no emotions.
The strict jury members gave Vlad Stashevsky the minimum three points. No other participant received such a low score.
The hosts hinted that the singer needs to prepare well for his next performance to avoid leaving the show.
Meanwhile, viewers are supporting Stashevsky.
«They»ve pecked poor Vladik to death, which is quite expected,« says show fan Yulia Vladimirova. »Of course, his songs aren«t that deep, but the fact that he has outgrown them is natural, why focus on that? Everyone sang from their own repertoire.»
«Well, how was Stashevsky supposed to sing a song with a light, danceable motif? That»s it! They found a whipping boy,« complains Marina Katina.
«Stashevsky objectively has the most ridiculous arrangement,» believes Ira Gusakova. «Moreover, for the second year in a row they are ruining the presentation of his own song.»
