Bratsk rapper Icegergert: criminal past, photo with Shoigu, extremism apology

Rapper Icegergert, who hails from Bratsk, «blew up» in 2022 after his first concert at the Trapgladiator party dedicated to amateur fights. After that, the young artist was noticed by Basta and signed a contract to release tracks on his label Gazgolder. Currently, Icegergert«s songs have about 8.5 million listens on Yandex Music, and on March 7 he will perform a concert in Irkutsk. Here is the biography of the controversial performer.

«Paid Respect to His Father»

Georgy Gergert was born on August 24, 2001, in Bratsk. He himself said that his ancestors on his father«s side were German, and on his mother»s side — Azerbaijani. In the harsh northern city, the boy spent only six years of his life, but claims that it was the «tough, hierarchical, and early-maturing» environment that influenced the aesthetic and character of his tracks.

The boy«s childhood was traumatic. When he was six years old, his mother and father were stripped of parental rights due to legal problems.

«On the internet, they write that my dad is an FSB (Federal Security Service) colonel. Or that I»m «red.» But people just don«t know that I essentially don»t have a father. I said in Basta«s MC Taxi that my parents are criminals. My parents broke the law, so they were deprived of parental rights. I»m now on excellent terms with my mom, she comes to my concerts, we have family dinners. But until I was 18, she couldn«t participate in my upbringing. My father has another family, he lives in Siberia. I recently messaged him — just threw some respect his way, established a connection — and that»s it,« Georgy told The Flow.

After that, the boy was taken to Saint Petersburg, where his upbringing was handled by his aunt, grandmother, and grandfather. Specifically, Gosha was raised by his aunt and her husband. She enrolled the boy in clubs and sections. When he was 10, he was sent to the Suvorov Military School.

«I always lived in contrasts from childhood. The military thing was immediate — I did self-defense, karting. And in parallel — foreign languages, ballroom dancing, music. It all started with dancing. I remember, I»m in a costume, dancing little on stage, and in the hall sit spectators, guests, judges. I liked it. I saw no other path for myself besides music,« the rapper said in an interview with the magazine »Sobaka«.
Icegergert says that the Suvorov Military School, besides providing an excellent basic education, gave him strict discipline and the skill to use his time correctly. In the interview with «Sobaka,» he even mentioned that he danced at balls.
«They taught us everything: from chemistry to astronomy. I know that earlier guys at Suvorov were raised even cooler: they jumped with parachutes, fenced. For the balls, girls from the Vaganova Academy still came to us. The etiquette courses came in handy for the balls — they taught us that too. You know, I»ll say this: Suvorov turns boys into Petersburger. And it made me one,« Icegergert believes.
From his school days, Georgy has kept a photo with former Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov. They visited the Suvorov School in 2019. Also, the guy has friends from his company whom he constantly communicates with: some he invited to appear in music videos, and several work in his security service.
«Boyar and Russian Yakuza»
Parallel to his studies, Gergert was actively involved in sports. He became a master of sports in army hand-to-hand combat, was part of the Saint Petersburg team, and was considered one of the most titled athletes at the school. He later called sport the factor that kept him from self-destruction.
After graduating from the Suvorov Military School, Gergert entered the Budyonny Military Academy of Communications. He spent about a year there, served as a company sergeant major, continued to compete for the sports team, but accumulated fatigue from the closed military system.
«I»ve been in the military system since I was 10, I just got tired. Ambitions were suffocating. I wanted to do music, I wanted to dance, I wanted to sing. This wasn«t possible due to the regimen. I decided to resign,» Georgy said.
The first official musical releases by Icegergert came out in 2021. His style almost immediately formed as hard, minimalist trap with criminalized lexicon, emphasis on status, hierarchy, and collective loyalty.
The artist emphasizes that he relied on Western gangsta rap, and wrote lyrics based on personal experience. In his lyrics, he calls himself a «pakhan» (crime boss), «honest thief,» «boyar,» «Russian yakuza,» building his own mythology of strength and subordination.
«My habitat from childhood is Siberia, harshness, the district I lived in, the lifestyle of my parents, friends. Gangsta is about the collective. I grew up in an environment where there are bosses, leaders, coaches. So those who lived like that have no questions about why I write such music,» the rapper noted.
In 2022–2023, Icegergert released a series of notable releases — Saint George 3, «Oprichniki,» Business Bay, Ich Bin Trapper. Parallelly, he actively entered the feature culture, collaborating with rappers Basta, Guf, Brutto, Big Baby Tape, Slovetsky.
During the same period, he became one of the organizers of Trapgladiator — events combining rap culture and fights under street boxing rules. In 2024, Icegergert signed a contract with the Gazgolder label. In the fall of the same year, Icegergert embarked on a large-scale tour of Russia — from Kaliningrad to Siberia.
«I Would Be a Big Problem»
Icegergert believes that his uniqueness is primarily in his voice and timbre. And to the question: «Why did he — a Suvorov cadet and athlete — choose rap on criminal themes?» he answers that this is already in the past.
«It»s about things I read about two or three years ago. If you listen to the music that comes out today — the last album, the penultimate features — I«m starting to use other words. But criminality and some gangsta story — it»s 100 percent associated with me.
The rapper does not publicize his personal life, on social media he only shares information about new releases. In 2025, Forbes included him in the «30 Under 30» list — the most influential figures in art, business, and sports under 30 years old.
But there were also scandals: in 2025, at his concert in Ufa, a fight broke out, which the Ministry of Internal Affairs investigated. Also, the head of the Safe Internet League, Yekaterina Mizulina, paid attention to Georgy«s work. This led to the removal of some of his early tracks from music platforms. Georgy does not hide that provocation in creativity is important to him.
«Only depending on what you»re provoking. I provoke feelings, actions. I encourage working out, I encourage stepping out of the comfort zone. Rap without provocation is rap about nothing,« he said in an interview with The Flow.
In October 2025, at a concert in Moscow, the rapper shouted a phrase that made him a figure in an extremism case. The remark was a toast and related to the glorification of a banned criminal movement. In November, the rapper was fined 2,000 rubles.
«I must apologize for the phrase I said recently. I was drinking and allowed myself too much. I do not support any banned organizations on the territory of the Russian Federation, I love my country and openly declare this at all my events. I made a mistake, undoubtedly, I am guilty,» Icegergert stated.
In his free time, Georgy prefers to spend time at home — sleeping and reading. At the same time, he claims to love Saint Petersburg museums, as a former cadet cannot help but love them. He tries to show the Kunstkamera and the Winter Palace to all visiting friends.
Also, he worked for some time as a boxing coach at a municipal hall in the Central District of Saint Petersburg and calls sport his psychotherapy.
«Sport and also music. If it weren»t for these two things, I think I would be a big problem for society,« the rapper said in an interview with the magazine »Sobaka.«
The Icegergert concert will take place in Irkutsk on March 7 at the «Concert Hall» (formerly «Wild Horse»). Tickets cost from 2,850 to 9,050 rubles (approximately $29 to $91 at current rates). There are still many free seats in the hall.
