President inaugurates new campuses in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Yekaterinburg, and Kaliningrad

The campus construction project has been formally concluded.
The construction of a modern campus for Ural Federal University (UrFU) has been completed in Yekaterinburg. Simultaneously, a student campus has opened in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk for Sakhalin State University. In Kaliningrad, the construction of two dormitories has been finished as part of creating a campus for the Baltic Federal University (BFU).
The President of Russia joined the opening ceremony for the new facilities via video link.
«I congratulate you on this event. We have a large program, as is known: 25 campuses are only the first stage. Our first stage is planned until 2030. I am confident the program will be completed. There is a decent total funding volume of 150 billion rubles ($1.7 billion at current rates). Of that, 40 percent, even a bit more, is federal funding,» Vladimir Putin noted, emphasizing that a decision has already been made to extend the campus creation program into the future.
Recall that the campus in Yekaterinburg includes the academic building of the Institute of Economics and Management, the academic building of the Institute of Radioelectronics and Information Technologies, and the building of the Specialized Educational and Scientific Center. The total area of the new facilities exceeds 102.7 thousand square meters.
Three new academic buildings will soon welcome students. Construction was completed on schedule under the federal project «Creation of a Network of Modern Campuses» of the national project «Youth and Children».
