Yaroslavl pensioner displays injuries from store scissors assault
A Yaroslavl pensioner, who was attacked by a deranged man in a grocery store in the Krasnoperekopsky district, has shown photos of her injuries. As told by the victim«s daughter Vera to 76.RU, her mother Lyudmila received stitches on her head and arm. The 55-year-old pensioner is now afraid to go out alone on the street.
Recall that on January 19 on 8 Marta Street, a hooligan caused a rampage in the store, and then attacked a customer. The 39-year-old deranged man slashed the pensioner with scissors, after which he was detained. Earlier, we visited the store where the attack occurred and spoke with the sellers.
«I»ll kill you now«
As told by the victim«s daughter Vera, that evening her mother came to the store for groceries. The doors of the grocery store are located right in front of the cash registers. Upon entering the store, Lyudmila saw that one of the visitors was lying on the floor between the cash registers.
«Call the police!» he shouted.
Vera noted that there was no security in the store. The sellers and visitors could only watch what was happening. The store employees responded to the deranged man that they had already called the police.
The attacker did not wait for the authorities to arrive. The 55-year-old Lyudmila became the target of his rage.
«He got up from the floor, took two pairs of scissors, and went towards her. Then, grabbing my mother, he put the scissors to her neck, saying — »I«ll kill this bitch now». At that moment, the sellers did not provide any assistance to help,« shared Vera about what happened.
How the attacker was detained
At first, no one dared to help Lyudmila. The victim took matters into her own hands.
«My mother resisted and snatched one pair of scissors. Because of this, she received injuries to her hand and head,» explained the victim«s daughter Vera.
After being wounded, Lyudmila cried out: «Help!» The deranged man then knocked the wounded pensioner to the floor.
Help arrived unexpectedly. Two men entered the store and, seeing the situation, did not hesitate.
«They helped neutralize the attacker. Afterwards, they waited for the patrol service and handed over the deranged man to the officers,» recounted Lyudmila«s daughter the story.
Ambulance personnel arrived at the scene. Lyudmila was taken from the store to Solovyovskaya Hospital.
«They brought her to the emergency room, but they didn»t admit her there. Then they went to the trauma center, where necessary assistance was provided. They stitched her up and sent her to the emergency room to see a neurosurgeon,« shared Vera.
What happened to the attacker
The attacker himself was taken by police officers. A criminal case has been initiated under the article «Hooliganism committed with the use of an item used as a weapon» (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Taking into account the position of the prosecutor«s representative, the Krasnoperekopsky District Court chose a preventive measure for the accused in the form of custody for a period of 2 months. Now the attacker could face punishment of up to 7 years in prison.
Crimes under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation are punishable by a fine of from five hundred thousand to one million rubles (approximately $5,000 to $10,000 at current rates) or in the amount of the wages or other income of the convicted person for a period of three to four years, or compulsory labor for up to five years, or imprisonment for up to seven years.
Meanwhile, Lyudmila has stitches between her thumb and index finger, which will be removed in two weeks. Her palm is bandaged. There is a scar on her head.
