Yakutian Man Charged for Advocating Armed Rebellion

The Federal Security Service in Yakutia has detained a local man for openly supporting Ukrainian militant groups and calling for armed rebellion to overthrow the government.

The FSB of Yakutia detained a resident of the Churapchinsky District who openly supported the activities of Ukrainian militant groups. This was reported on 28 January by the agency«s press service.
The offender spread calls for armed rebellion on Telegram to overthrow the government and justified the killings of Russian soldiers in the special military operation zone.
A criminal case was initiated against him for public calls to carry out terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism, or propaganda of terrorism. He faces a fine of up to one million rubles (approximately $11,000 at current rates) or imprisonment for up to 7 years.
Recently, a 46-year-old resident of Aldan was sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in a general regime colony for calls to extremism. He wanted to stage a revolution and also spread illegal materials on Telegram.
