Yakut Man Accused of Pedophilia Stays in Jail, Misses Family

On 22 January, the Mirny District Court extended the arrest of 35-year-old Yakut resident Mikhail S. (name changed – Ed.), who was accused by his own wife of sexually harassing his eight-year-old stepdaughter, after which she tried to withdraw the complaint. The court«s website reported that he remains in pre-trial detention in Yakutsk.

Darima (name changed – Ed.), 34, posted a video on her Instagram page (an extremist organization banned in Russia) of her husband from the detention center, in which Mikhail said that the cell is warm, has a TV and food, he gets along well with his cellmates, and his health is fine.

The accused wrote a love letter to his wife, assuring her that he holds no grudge, even though she «spat in his face, kicked, hit, filed a lawsuit, worked in massage parlors.» Mikhail dreams of being released soon and returning to his family.

«I so want to show you the notebook where I wrote about freedom, you wrote exactly the same thing in your letter. Everyone runs to me with wild screams, then they unpack gifts. I see your eyes full of tears and I hand you a bouquet of flowers, but you, without accepting them, fall into my arms. In short, we»ll read it together, you«ll appreciate my creativity: poems, drawings, songs. I hold no grudge against anyone and I don»t dare think badly of anyone. I«m warmed only by our bright moments, good events, happy family. All my poems and songs are about you. I am calm when I think about you,» wrote Mikhail. Darima published his letter on her social media as well.

According to the accused, there has never been anyone in his family who abandoned their family.

Recall that a criminal case was initiated on 7 October 2025 based on Darima«s complaint about sexual harassment of her minor stepdaughter. The editorial office of 14.RU reported her version, in which Darima openly stated that she had framed her husband.

According to her version, in October she had a fight with her husband and kicked him out of the house. The man left, promising to divorce her. After spending the night in the garage, the next day he went out for a walk. In a fit of jealousy, Darima decided to take revenge on her husband. She confessed to her daughter that Mikhail was not her biological father and persuaded her to make a false report that her stepfather had molested her.

Afterwards, Darima contacted a lawyer at the Yakut trust center and described Mikhail as an alcoholic, calling him a «degenerate» and «obsessed.» Although her husband tried to reconcile a couple of days later, Darima filed a complaint, and on the same day the man was detained and taken into custody.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Yakutia confirmed to a 14.RU correspondent that the woman wrote the statement herself and, since it concerns abuse of a minor, a criminal case was opened under Article 132.

Now Darima is trying to prove that she framed her husband due to an ordinary domestic quarrel. She regularly talks about this on her social media, posting in defense of her spouse. The woman asked people to sign a petition in defense of her husband and for the Investigative Committee to open a criminal case against her for false reporting. In addition, Darima publicly appealed through her social media to the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, but received no response.

«I committed a crime under Article 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, »False Report of a Particularly Serious Crime,« and for the third month I continue to live a normal life: I sing, work, eat, sleep, enjoy life. At the same time, a criminal case under Article 306 has still not been initiated. Is that normal? Is that legal? I have filed many confessions in which I admitted that I slandered my husband and prepared my daughter to give false testimony. But nothing is happening,» wrote Darima.

Darima and her husband were hosts for corporate events and weddings in Yakutia. The woman has almost 6,000 followers. Now she is raising three children alone, two of whom are his biological children. It is known that Mikhail«s hearing will be held on 29 January.
