Woman Accused of Sabotaging Trans-Siberian Railway Unpaid $8,000

The accused woman was involved in distributing anti-government leaflets prior to the alleged sabotage.
On January 27, the Chita District Court remanded in custody until March a woman accused of blowing up a section of the Trans-Siberian Railway track in the Chita District, according to the court«s website.
As follows from the accused«s testimony presented in the materials, she initially had a negative attitude towards Russia»s actions in Ukraine and since 2024 joined the Telegram channel «Legion of Freedom of Russia» (a terrorist organization, banned in Russia) and began correspondence with a participant of this channel, who suggested she put up leaflets with anti-government texts against the special military operation, and later she was offered to carry out an explosion of the railway track, promising to pay $8,000 for it. She did everything as agreed, but did not receive the money, the statement says.
The court considered that the woman, if released and fearing criminal liability, could interfere with the investigation of the criminal case.
Earlier, sources from Chita.Ru reported that in August 2025, unknown persons carried out an explosion in the Atamanovka area.
