In Yasnogorsk District, a verdict has been issued against a Russian Post employee who misappropriated a large sum of money intended for benefit payments to residents.
As established by the court, the woman worked as the head of a post office branch and simultaneously performed duties in several other branches in Yasnogorsk and the district. She was a financially responsible person and was accountable for the safety of money and valuables.
In early October 2025, the employee received cash for three post offices at once—these funds were intended for the payment of pensions and benefits to residents. According to the court, it was then that she formed the intent to steal.
On October 12, the woman appropriated 930,466 rubles (about $9,300 at current rates) belonging to JSC Russian Post. To conceal the shortfall, she staged a robbery of the post office by an allegedly unknown person. Later, she disposed of the stolen money at her own discretion.
The Yasnogorsk District Court found her guilty under the article on misappropriation using her official position. She was fined 150,000 rubles (about $1,500 at current rates).
