In Volgograd, criminal prosecution has resumed against Eldor Azizov, director of the Kaustik plant, accused of sexual relations with a minor. The trial is being held behind closed doors, presided over by Judge Veronika Kushch, who previously heard the criminal case of Alexander Stepanov, former head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region.
According to the case file on the Central District Court website, the materials were submitted to the court on October 27. The actual trial began on December 4, but the first hearing was postponed due to the non-appearance of witnesses. On February 4, another hearing took place, and the next hearing was rescheduled for February 26.
Recall that information about the intimate relationship of Kaustik’s general director with a minor appeared in anonymous Telegram channels in late October 2024. Later it became known that a criminal case had been opened against Eldor Azizov under Part 1 of Article 134 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Sexual intercourse and other acts of a sexual nature with a person under 16 years of age.” The general director of Kaustik commented on the situation only once:
— «I don’t know what these people are trying to achieve,» the press service of Kaustik relayed Eldor Azizov’s words. — «I can say that I saw the victim for the first time in my life in the courtroom. I cannot comment further on the case while the trial is ongoing. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone; anyone could find themselves in such a situation.»
The materials of the criminal case were submitted to the Central District Court of Volgograd, where Judge Roman Khomutov returned the case to the prosecutor due to violations in the indictment. This decision was appealed by the state prosecution but was upheld by the Volgograd Regional Court.
The plant’s press service is not commenting on the renewed attempt to convict the company’s director. V1.RU is clarifying information about the new trial of Eldor Azizov with investigative and supervisory authorities.
