A mother from Tyumen continues to seek punishment for the teenagers who several years ago raped her underage daughter.
The incident occurred in an apartment building entranceway, where high school students assaulted the schoolgirl, recorded the incident on video, and then blackmailed her with the recordings.
Court hearings were repeatedly postponed because the accused failed to appear in court under various pretexts. Only in November 2025 was one of them sentenced to five years in a penal colony.
However, the man whom the mother considers the instigator of the crime unexpectedly went to the special military operation. The woman learned about this in court from his lawyer and filed complaints with the military prosecutor«s office to check the legality of the contract with the Ministry of Defense, but no violations were found.
Although a criminal case for rape is usually an obstacle to contract service, an exception was made in this case.
In the official response of the department, it is stated: «It has been established that on October 22, 2025, [the defendant»s name] applied to the contract military service selection point (POVSK) with a request to consider his candidacy for voluntary entry into military service under contract in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. As a result of the consideration, given the absence of a criminal record and medical contraindications on the date of application, a contract for military service was concluded with him on October 24, 2025.«
To sign the document, the defendant traveled to Voronezh.
The victim«s lawyer, Lyubov Safargalieva, explained to a 72.RU journalist: »One of the defendants took advantage of being released from custody on a written pledge not to leave. He was supposed to report to the investigator and to the courts. He practically did not appear at the last court hearings under the pretext of being ill. Apparently, realizing that the outcome might be unfavorable, he decided to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense, concealing the fact that he was on trial. And since he had not actually been convicted under the article for rape, he managed to sign the contract.«
According to the lawyer, she is waiting for responses from other authorities for further steps. The lawyer is also handling the case of the second participant, who was sentenced to five years but has filed an appeal.
Recall that in 2023, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, took an interest in the investigation of this case. After the incident, the principal of the school where the accused studied left his position.
