Teenager stabbed woman in stairwell and went into hiding

The investigation claims that on January 6, in the stairwell of a house in Gornouralsk, a minor stabbed 47-year-old Natalya Kiryanova. The woman died from her injuries several days later in a medical facility.

The teenager, whose name has not been disclosed in the media, was initially placed under house arrest. However, he removed his electronic bracelet and went into hiding. He was detained on the evening of January 19 after a tip-off from acquaintances – the young man had come to a friend«s birthday party.

During the house arrest period, friends visited the accused, and they posted short videos online. In one of them, when one of the guys received a call, the teenager asked not to reveal his location. The friend filming jokingly remarked: «You»re like a convict!«

15-year-old Anton (name changed) is known in the town as a notorious hooligan. He repeatedly participated in fights and damaged car tires. The teenager«s family is described as dysfunctional: his mother died, his father remarried, and the boy lived with him and his stepmother.

According to a local resident familiar with the situation, neither the father nor his wife were involved in upbringing. Both abuse alcohol, and domestic conflicts involving violence occurred in the family. The teenager studied poorly and was held back a year. Last year, he was sent to a correctional center in Chelyabinsk, from which he also escaped. At the same time, the boy is noted to have leadership qualities, and he negatively influenced peers, involving them in skipping school and drinking alcohol.

While the accused was in hiding, many residents of Gornouralsk were afraid to go outside. «Of course, it»s scary. You go to work – it«s dark, from work – too. A woman entered the stairwell and didn»t make it to her apartment. And there was no motive. We were afraid of running into him ourselves, and it was scary to let children go to school,« said local resident Tatiana.

The deceased Natalya Kiryanova is survived by three children, with the youngest daughter being a minor.

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (murder). The chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Sverdlovsk investigative department to provide a report on the progress of the investigation.
