Teenager gets 2 years for shooting friend in head

In Novomoskovsk, a verdict was handed down to a minor who shot an acquaintance in the head with an air pistol. The incident occurred on the afternoon of June 1, 2025, in one of the district«s parks.

As established by the court, the teenager, without any provocation and out of hooligan motives, fired an air pistol. The bullet struck another minor in the head. The injury was classified as grievous bodily harm — the victim sustained a significant permanent loss of overall working capacity of more than 30%.

The court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to two years of imprisonment to be served in a juvenile correctional facility. The measure of restraint was changed right in the courtroom — the teenager was taken into custody.

The court also granted the civil lawsuit: 2 million rubles (approximately $22,200) in compensation for moral damages was awarded to the victim. If the convicted person does not have the money or property, the payment will be recovered from his mother. This obligation will cease when the son reaches adulthood.
