In Omsk, a mathematics teacher stole Christmas dishes and microphones worth 27,000 rubles (approximately $300 at current rates) from a girl at a food court. This was reported in the official public page of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate for Omsk Region on VKontakte.

The Omsk regional police department has initiated a criminal case into the theft.

A 25-year-old Omsk resident told police that she left a bag with personal belongings in a cafe at the food court on Maslennikov Street and went to pick up her order. Upon returning, she found that the items were missing.

«Criminal investigation officers reviewed surveillance camera footage, and a man with a bag in his hands appeared on camera,» department employees said.

It turned out that the suspect works as a teacher in a private school and previously had no issues with the law. He was unable to explain the motive for his action.

The stolen items were seized and returned to the victim. An investigator initiated a criminal case under the article «Theft».

Previously, NGS55.RU reported that Omsk residents have been stealing more often.
