In the Novosibirsk Region, the investigation has been completed into the criminal case regarding the death of a 12-year-old disabled girl in a fire in the Suzunsky District. A 50-year-old woman has been accused of causing death by negligence (Part 1, Article 109 of the Russian Criminal Code).

According to the Investigative Committee for the Novosibirsk Region, in October 2025, the accused turned on and left an electric heater operating for several days in one of the rooms.

«Knowing full well that faulty operation of electrical appliances can cause a fire, the woman left the 12-year-old girl alone and went out of the house for several hours. On the afternoon of November 8, 2025, a fire occurred in the premises,» the Investigative Committee reported.

The girl suffered acute carbon monoxide poisoning and died in the hospital.

Investigators have gathered the evidence base and sent the criminal case with the prosecutor-approved indictment to court.

The general and executive directors of a metal processing company were sentenced to suspended terms for the death of four workers at the production site.
