Schoolboys Invade Home, Assault Pensioner and Disabled Youth

Two schoolboys who beat a pensioner and a 20-year-old man in the Tungiro-Olyokminsky District of Zabaykalsky Krai broke into their victims« home by breaking down the door. They had grievances with the disabled youth, and the elderly man was injured after intervening on his behalf. This was reported to a correspondent of Chita.Ru on February 2 by the head of Tungiro-Olyokminsky District, Mikhail Yefanov.
Initially, the incident was reported by the police. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, men born in 1955 and 2005 were drinking alcohol with 17-year-old schoolboys, and then a quarrel broke out, during which the minors assaulted them. According to the regional Ministry of Health, one victim is in satisfactory condition, the other in moderate condition.
«The pensioner indeed did not drink alcohol with these minors. They themselves broke into the house with confrontations and grievances against the 20-year-old man, who, by the way, is disabled from childhood, mentally handicapped, and does not fully understand his actions. They literally broke into their house by breaking down the door. They started to argue with him, the grandfather came out, apparently to reason with them, but they beat both of them. At the moment, both the pensioner and the man are in the hospital with quite serious bodily injuries. The forensic medical examination, at least by midday on February 2, had not been conducted, and everyone is waiting for its conclusion,» told Mikhail Yefanov.
The police are investigating the case. Additionally, by order of the deputy governor of the region, Natalya Shcherbina, members of the regional commission for minors« affairs (KDN) arrived in the district. The district head also personally met with eleventh-graders in the presence of their parents and district KDN members.
Depending on the forensic examination results, additional measures may be taken against those responsible for the beating.
«My personal opinion: no moral arguments justify the cruelty with which the offense was committed, and the guilty must face punishment, which will undoubtedly come. Impunity in such cases cannot be allowed,» concluded Yefanov.
