Police Colonel Detained in Omsk Over Multiple Suspicions

In Omsk, police colonel Dmitry Nagibin has been detained. He holds the position of head of the department of economic security and anti-corruption in the regional police department.
The information was confirmed by an NGS55.RU source. According to the source, the detention was carried out by the Moscow police internal security directorate with the support of the FSB.
The detention, according to our source, may be related to bribery. Meanwhile, the publication Commercial News citing its own sources writes that the colonel may be suspected of exceeding authority in his department«s review of materials on counterfeit products. Interestingly, several years ago Nagibin gave an interview to SuperOmsk where he discussed the fight against cigarette smuggling.
Regional law enforcement agencies have not published official confirmation or denial of the colonel«s detention. Vadim Stepanov, head of the economic security department of the Omsk region Ministry of Internal Affairs, declined to comment on the situation.
