According to colleagues from Orenday, the detainee is an entrepreneur who trades at one of the local markets and owed his business partner about 15 million rubles (about $160,000 at current rates). To avoid repaying the debt, the trader allegedly decided to hire a hitman, covering all expenses for the car and weapons himself. The payment was about $100,000 (more than 7.5 million rubles, or about $80,000 — almost half of the debt).

The potential hitman, upon learning who he was supposed to kill, informed the police about the hire. As a result, after one of the conversations between the would-be killer and the client, the latter was detained — this happened right in the parking lot of one of the city«s shopping centers.

The Dzerzhinsky District Court of Orenburg remanded the accused in custody until March 23. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Orenburg Region did not comment on the matter.

According to sources of 56.RU (information also confirmed by sources of colleagues from Ural56.Ru and EAN), both the detainee and his partner, who was supposed to be killed, are from Tajikistan, and their business is concentrated near the «Petrovsky Market».

The surname of the man sent to the pre-trial detention center is Mavlonov. The main activities of his firms are wholesale trade in fruits and cargo transportation. The revenue of one of the organizations for 2024 was about 40 million rubles (about $430,000 at current rates), but the net profit went into the red by about 3 million rubles (about $32,000).

Recall that just before the New Year in Orenburg, a City Council deputy, Alexey Kuzmin, was also sent to a pre-trial detention center on charges of organizing contract killings. According to available information, he may be connected to a gang of hitmen, whose leader (Alexey Khudaev) was also caught after 5 years on the federal wanted list.
