In the Trans-Urals region, a criminal case has been sent to court against a 40-year-old previously convicted resident of the Dalmatovo District, who threw a grenade in a local cafe in August 2025. This was reported by the regional police press service. The man is also accused of illegal storage of explosive devices, hooliganism, and intentional destruction and damage of someone else«s property.

Investigators established that the accused was drunk and threw the grenade after a conflict with other visitors. The cafe owner asked the parties to stop the quarrel, after which the man went home, where he took a grenade received from a friend earlier. Then, returning, he threw the grenade behind the bar counter and left the premises. As a result of the explosion and fire, the entrepreneur«s property was damaged, and the total material damage amounted to more than 90,000 rubles (approximately $900 at current rates).

The criminal case has been transferred to court. Now the man faces up to eight years in prison.
