In Tula, officers from the drug control department foiled an attempt to illegally sell a large batch of banned substances. This was reported by the regional police department.
According to preliminary data, in an apartment in a building on Pushkinskaya Street, police discovered and seized several packets containing a white powdery substance. An expert analysis confirmed that the seized material was a synthetic narcotic drug. The total mass of the substance was 6.12 grams, which according to law constitutes a large amount.
According to the investigation, an unemployed Tula resident planned to distribute the banned substance within the city.
A criminal case has been opened against the man under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Russian Criminal Code («Attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale»). The maximum penalty under this article is up to 20 years in prison.
The suspect is currently in custody. The investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.
