According to eyewitness reports on social media, the man first behaved inappropriately: he lay on the floor, screamed, and threw goods from the shelves, causing a real mess in the sales area.

Later, according to police information, he took scissors that were at the checkout and held them to the neck of a 60-year-old female shopper. When she tried to break free, he inflicted wounds on her hand and head.
Law enforcement officers commented on the details of what happened
The attacker was subdued by other store visitors, who then handed him over to the arriving patrol of the patrol-post service.
The Yaroslavl Region police department clarified that the detainee is a 39-year-old man with prior multiple convictions. A criminal case has been initiated against him under the article «Hooliganism committed with the use of an object used as a weapon.»
After the incident, traces of the rampage remained in the store: overturned shelves, goods scattered on the floor, and a noticeable puddle of blood near the freezer.
In a conversation with law enforcement officers, the detainee said that his parents support him. When asked if he was ashamed of what he had done, the man briefly answered: «Ashamed.»
