Law enforcement to visit Kemerovo medics who mocked patients in video

Criminal charges threaten young medics who filmed helpless patients on their phones and laughed at them. After unknown persons leaked the footage online, a pre-investigation check was organized in Kemerovo, the press service of the regional committee reported on February 2.

Investigators will determine if former medical college students photographed unconscious citizens on hospital beds and published the images in closed Telegram channels. If the stories reported by anonymous authors on social media are confirmed, the young medics face not only penalties for violating professional ethics norms.

The Investigative Committee has organized a check under the criminal article for violation of privacy. They face fines, compulsory labor, or a ban from certain activities for up to three years.

«Currently, the investigator is conducting a set of verification measures aimed at establishing the circumstances voiced on social networks. Based on the results of the check, a procedural decision will be made,» the committee wrote.

The Ministry of Health of Kuzbass reported that the authors of the scandalous video are graduates of a medical college. The department clarified to NGS42.RU that, despite this, meetings on medical ethics were held at the institution.

According to unknown sources, besides mockery, the medics published content of people without clothing, while ridiculing their appearance, diagnoses, and behavior.
