Investigative Committee Rebuts Samara Mother's Threat Claims

Investigators explained the actual circumstances of the case in the village of Vorotnye.
The investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the Samara region has officially responded to a request from the editorial office of 63.RU regarding the case of Yulia Zorina, who had earlier stated that she received threats and demands for money through social networks in December 2023 and 2024.

The investigation concluded Zorina sent the threatening and insulting messages to herself.
“During the inspection, it was established that the phone number from which, according to Zorina, the threatening messages were coming, was actually used by her and her family members from 2024 to 2025. The citizen also registered in open social networks from this number and conducted correspondence under her own name,” the investigators reported.
Zorina claimed that the mobile phone with the SIM card for this number was stolen from her in December 2023, but the investigation considered these statements to be contrary to the established facts. The department came to the conclusion that the arguments about the theft of the phone, as well as the incoming threats and extortion, were not confirmed.
The response was signed by the assistant to the head of the investigative department, Colonel of Justice Elena Shkaeva. Earlier, a number of our publications reported on Zorina’s statements about pressure and demands for money via the internet, which have now been officially refuted by the investigation.
