Court orders dropper from New Urengoy to repay Stavropol woman

Another case of fraud has been recorded in Stavropol Krai. A local woman sent over 2 million to an unknown account, but law enforcement agencies identified its owner.
A woman from the stanitsa of Nezlobnaya appealed to the prosecutor«s office in Zheleznovodsk, stating that she had fallen victim to fraudsters. It turned out that in April 2024, an unknown person deceived her over the phone and dictated an account number to which she transferred 2.35 million rubles (approximately $23,500 at current rates).
A criminal case was initiated. The prosecutor«s office of Stavropol Krai reported that the account holder was identified. He turned out to be a resident of New Urengoy. The authority filed a lawsuit with the Novourengoy City Court of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to recover the entire amount from the dropper.
The claims were satisfied, so the resident of another region is obliged to return the money. The execution of the decision is under the control of the prosecutor«s office.
Unfortunately, this is not the first such case. Recently, a resident of Pyatigorsk fell for the bait of quick earnings. Of course, the woman did not receive any money and only lost about 800,000 rubles (approximately $8,000 at current rates). But the court ordered the recovery of the entire amount from the dropper, who turned out to be a resident of Irkutsk Oblast.
