Chelyabinsk court orders migrants to pay 5.6M rubles to parents

Eight people were tried in the case, with four specifically charged with murder.
Migrants convicted of murdering a 17-year-old schoolboy near the Cosmos shopping mall in Chelyabinsk must pay his parents a total of 5.6 million rubles (approximately $62,200 at current rates). The Kalininsky District Court made this ruling.
The parents filed a civil lawsuit in court seeking compensation for moral damages.
«Compensation for moral damages should be collected from Sattorov, Mirov, Dzhalilov, and Saburov — 700 thousand rubles each (about $7,800 at current rates) to be paid to each parent,» the court stated.
The decision has not yet come into legal force.
Recall that the conflict, which resulted in the killing of an 11th-grader, erupted on the evening of April 9, 2023, near a computer club located in the Cosmos shopping mall. After the schoolboy«s murder, law enforcement quickly detained the first suspect — a 20-year-old migrant. Subsequently, the number of individuals involved increased — eight Tajiks were arrested in the criminal case, including minors.
In March 2024, the regional court began hearing the case. The parents of the deceased schoolboy and numerous witnesses were questioned. The state prosecution requested real prison terms for all the defendants — ranging from 5 to 18 years. The accused themselves pleaded for leniency.
On October 28, the Chelyabinsk Regional Court announced the verdict in this murder case, and as a result, all eight defendants received real prison terms.
All about this criminal case is in the special section of 74.RU.
