Arkhangelsk Man Attacks Bus Driver, Had Previous Assault

A few days ago, a bus passenger attacked the driver. The transport company TK «Riko» stated that a year ago, the same person fought with the driver of another bus.

The previous incident occurred on February 10, 2025. The passenger was riding in a half-empty bus, obstructing the door opening. After a remark from the driver, a verbal altercation and fight began.

The carrier filed a report with the police both a year ago and now. TK «Riko» noted that on route No. 5, LiAZ buses are used, and the door opening system is equipped with pinch sensors. If there is an obstruction, the door will automatically open.

«What is particularly alarming is that the man could attack the driver while the bus is moving, which is a direct threat to passengers! The company is ready to hold an informational conversation with the man about the principles and features of automatic doors in buses,» said Riko.

In December, unknown individuals shot at a bus in Arkhangelsk.

According to the carrier«s press service, over the past 2 years, windows in city transport have been broken more than 15 times. One of the incidents occurred in June 2025: in the settlement of Turdeevsk near Arkhangelsk, unknown individuals shot at bus No. 23 with an air rifle. A similar case had already happened in Arkhangelsk in 2024 — then, bus route No. 64 was shot at. And this spring, children threw stones at another bus of the company »Riko«.

Buses in the city have been vandalized before. For example, one passenger took a hostage, sprayed a fire extinguisher, and smashed the windows. After that, he was sent to a pre-trial detention center.
