Recall that the Yekaterinburg resident went abroad to earn money. Since June 2025, scammers held her, starved her, beat her, and forced her to work. According to a volunteer involved in freeing the girl, people were dying in the call center. All of this happened before Madina’s eyes.
The girl’s family lives in a Ural village a hundred kilometers from Yekaterinburg. Madina has an older sister and two younger brothers.
The student did not tell her family about what happened to her in Myanmar. Read what Madina’s mother said about her.
What kind of scammers operate in Myanmar? In a number of Southeast Asian countries, a transnational criminal network is active, recruiting Russians and people from CIS countries under the pretext of employment in Thailand.
After passing an «online interview», some were invited to Bangkok, and people were bought plane tickets without a visa, bypassing official border control points.
Note that this is not the first case of abduction of Russian women. A similar situation occurred last September. In Thailand, a girl was tricked and taken to Myanmar, where she was forced to work in scam call centers.
