Yakutian village's House of Culture gets 12 million ruble upgrade

The House of Folk Creativity for 150 people in the village of Mikhailovka in the Amginsky District of Yakutia will undergo landscaping and improvements for 11.8 million rubles (about $118,000 at current rates). The building is new and 79% constructed, according to a report on the government procurement website.
Mikhailovka is the administrative center and the only inhabited locality of the Somorsunsky nasleg (a traditional administrative division). The village has nine streets and is located 59 kilometers from the district center, the village of Amga. It has a population of 827 people.
The auction will conclude on 4 February 2026. The contractor must, by 30 June 2026, improve the driveways and open areas, build sidewalks, prepare a site for garbage containers and fence off the waste area, and install decorative elements.
The warranty period for the work is 60 months from the date of acceptance. The contractor must begin work immediately upon signing the contract.
The cultural center building will be made of stone; windows, the roof, and external utilities have already been installed. Currently, workers are installing the heating system and finishing the interior work. In 2022, the Somorsunsky nasleg won a competition under the Russian Ministry of Agriculture«s state program »Comprehensive Development of Rural Territories«. The facility will be named after Vasily Vasiliev-Kharyskhal, a people»s writer and public figure born in the nasleg.
