The farmer said the family is in a state of shock. Next Monday, he plans to visit the migration service in person to find out the details.
If the decision takes effect, his relatives will have to leave Russia within a few days. Walker himself stresses that he does not intend to leave, as he considers the country his home.
Walker holds Russian citizenship, while his wife and children do not, the outlet added.
Justus Walker moved to Russia as a teenager in 1994 together with his missionary parents. Since 2016, he has settled with his family in the Soloneshensky district of Altai Krai (Siberia, near the city of Biysk), where he built his own farm.
By his own account, Walker had recently been busy with family matters, work at his church, and developing the farm, so he had not posted new videos for a long time. The family is actively expanding its production of craft cheeses and yogurts, into which it recently invested almost all of its savings. They are also preparing to open a tourist eco-camping site.
According to the farmer«s preliminary estimates, an emergency relocation and winding down the business alone would cost about 900,000 rubles ($11,400 at current rates). Despite the threat of deportation, the father of many children hopes to resolve the situation peacefully and continue developing the farm that has become his life»s work.
The farmer became known online as the «merry milkman» after a news segment about sanctions in which he said, laughing: «There will be no Italian cheese for you.»
