Ufa Photographer Captures Bashkiria's Beauty Amid Flood
People often say that Bashkiria has remarkably beautiful nature, citing locations like Mount Iremel or the Muradym Gorge. But in reality, the region«s beauty extends far beyond tourist spots — simply venturing into a remote district of the republic is enough.
Photographer Bulat Salikhov of UFA1.RU had the pleasure of witnessing this firsthand during a work trip this week to the Askinsky District, where flooding had occurred. A separate report about the flood was already published on the portal.
Now it«s time to simply enjoy the views. Flooded houses and roads are, of course, unpleasant and sad. But northern Bashkiria is truly beautiful even in such conditions.
Already speeding along the road, you can notice the surrounding landscapes. Endless meadows alternate, and the road winds up and down, revealing inspiring perspectives for a shot.
Local settlements seem to have been founded in places straight out of fairy tales. All that«s missing is a castle with a beautiful princess and dragons. Sometimes, when you shift your gaze from the swollen river, what opens before you is literally a desktop wallpaper. In such moments, you wish you could learn to shoot with your eyes.
Another aspect is the charm of local villages. There is something captivating about their way of life, especially under the current circumstances. Time here flows a bit slower than what city dwellers are used to. The daily routine is different, but that«s precisely what you want to capture.
Local wildlife continues to live its best life: grass snakes crawl along the riverbed, hens peck at something right on the road, and cows graze in lush meadows and take baths, given the abundance of water. All this against a backdrop of natural wonders.
The babbling of the river, rustic houses, and mountains — or some might say hills — in the background; it doesn«t change the essence. The landscapes of northern Bashkiria are mesmerizing, and quite likely, other parts of the republic are no less impressive.
