Madina, a resident of Yekaterinburg who managed to escape from scammers in Myanmar, told how she ended up in captivity. The 21-year-old student admitted she wanted to start a modeling career. Before that, she worked at a Chinese club.

Madina is now safe after her escape from the scam call center.

«I met a person. In China, one-time gigs for photo shoots of various products are quite popular. And I was also promised that I would be a model, a representative face of some company selling products,» Madina told the Ren TV channel.

Journalists filmed the student at the airport after her return to Russia.

After that, the person who offered Madina the job stopped responding.

Once inside the call center where the scammers operated, Madina«s phone was regularly checked. She was the only girl speaking Russian, so a translator was brought in for inspections.

«We had internet access when we were in the office under cameras, under supervision. We had to write to family that everything was fine, everything okay. For some period they took my phone,» Madina continued. «So, my relatives knew which country I was in, but they didn«t know what was happening.»

When Madina stopped contacting, her relatives filed a missing person report. In captivity, the Yekaterinburg resident saw soldiers. One of the servicemen noticed Madina, paid attention to her being Russian, and helped her get out.

«Only I was pulled out and some guys from other companies are now being deported. I was just lucky. No one will help you there, even if you run through the forest and get to the street,» Madina added.

The Yekaterinburg resident has already returned to Russia and was met at the airport by her sister. Read what Madina«s mother said about her. According to volunteers, Madina was starved and beaten in captivity, and other girls died right before her eyes.

Note that this is not the first case of abduction of Russian women. A similar situation occurred in September last year — a girl in Thailand was tricked and taken to Myanmar, where she was likewise forced to work in scam call centers.
